«Francesco, va', ripara la mia casa che, come vedi, è tutta in rovina»: il processo di restaurazione della Chiesa intrapreso da Papa Francesco è ormai irreversibile, soprattutto dopo il vibrante, epocale discorso prenatalizio rivolto ai Cardinali e Vescovi della Curia Vaticana, in cui ha elencato ben 15 malattie - e davvero serie ! - che affliggono la Chiesa: dalla durezza di cuore, all' Alzheimer spirituale che impedisce a tanti di ricordare il loro primo amore per Cristo, alla vanagloria… Sbalordisce l'assonanza con quanto si legge nelle profezie di Marcello Ezechiele Ciai rivolte a Roma e alla Chiesa ( la prima," Il Mantello ", avuta 33 anni fa in una quaresima di penitenza e digiuno e ampiamente diffusa anche a Roma e al Vaticano):“Figliolo profetizza anche contro i capi; non vorranno ascoltarti, hanno indurito il loro cuore. Magari ti ascoltassero e si ravvedessero ! ... Io dicevo, andrò dai grandi, forse lì troverò uno che sappia di Dio. Anche se dicono di Dio, non sono suoi. Perché hanno indurito il loro cuore e le loro menti sono contumaci. Così dice il Signore". E ancora: "Dov'è la tua primitiva fedeltà ? Dov'è il tuo fervore, il tuo primo amore che mi inebriava di profumo e infuocava il mio ardore fino a far risuscitare i morti per te ? Quant'eri bella oh sposa mia ! Madre dei miei figli, delizia degli occhi miei, splendore per tutte le genti. Ora non sei che un frutto marcio ! Ricerchi gloria nelle alleanze politiche e religiose..."

Questo profeta di Assisi nel 1994 venne dichiarato eretico - ma poi prosciolto 12 anni dopo - insieme alla sua comunità, dall'allora vescovo di Assisi. Eppure le sue profezie rappresentano per la Chiesa una preziosissima manifestazione di quello Spirito Santo che, ha detto il Papa nel suo discorso, non può essere né pilotato né addomesticato.

E fu proprio Marcello Ciai, a letto malato, a mandare da Assisi un suo discepolo spirituale, Massimo Coppo, a pregare su una chiavica di Piazza San Pietro nei due giorni del Conclave, vestito di sacco e a piedi nudi sotto la pioggia, per un Papa francescano vicino al cuore della gente e che amasse i poveri: e fu Papa Francesco! Un Papa al quale tutti oggi, sfiduciati dalle istituzioni e dalla politica, guardano come unica speranza.

"Francis, go, and repair my house which, as you see, is all in ruins": the process of restoration of the Church undertaken by Pope Francis is now irreversible, especially after the vibrant, epochal pre-Christmas speach addressed to the Cardinals and Bishops of the Vatican Curia, in which he listed not less than 15 diseases - and really serious ones! - that afflict the Church: from the hardness of heart, to the "spiritual Alzheimer's disease" that prevents many to remember their first love for Christ, to vainglory ... The consonance with what we read in the prophecies of Marcello Ezekiel Ciai addressed to Rome and the Church is astonishing ( he received the first of his prophecies, "the Cloak", 33 years ago in a retreat of forty days of penance and fasting, and it was widespread also in Rome and the Vatican): "My son, prophesy also against the leaders, they will not listen to you, they have hardened their hearts. If only they would listen and repent !... I will go before the great, maybe there I will find one who knows of God. Even if they speak of God, they are not his. Because they have hardened their hearts and their minds are contumacious. So says the Lord". And again: "Where is your original faithfulness ? Where is your fervor, your first love that inebriated me with perfume and inflamed my ardor up to raising the dead for you ? How beautiful you were, oh my bride ! Mother of my children, delight of my eyes, splendor for all the people. Now, you are nothing other than rotten fruit ! You seek for glory in political and religious alliances..."

This prophet of Assisi in 1994 was declared heretic - but then he was acquitted 12 years later - together with his community, by the then Bishop of Assisi. Yet his prophecies are for the Church a precious manifestation of that Holy Spirit who, as the Pope said in his speech, can neither be piloted nor domesticated. And it was Marcello Ciai, sick in bed, who sent from Assisi one of his spiritual disciples, Massimo Coppo, to pray on a sewer of St. Peter's Square during the two days of the Conclave, dressed in sackcloth and barefoot in the rain, for a Franciscan Pope near to the hearts of people and who loved the poor: and it was Pope Francis! A Pope at which everyone today looks, disheartened by the institutions and politics, as the only hope.

Ci scrive: Qui San Francesco non è così conosciuto come pensavo.
Sono passato a Grand Central, dove c'è una stazione ferroviaria e metropolitana veramente grandiosa, sembra un imponente teatro d'opera posto nel cuore di Manhattan, entri e trovi raffinati ristoranti ai due lati, al centro una scala con una loggia in fondo che guarda su una sottostante enorme piazza dove un'infinità di persone si muovono velocemente in tutte le direzioni, dall'alto sembrano formiche che scappano da un formicaio.
Tutt'intorno alla stazione i colossali grattacieli di New York ormai illuminati perché è sera danno un senso di inquietante soggezione, almeno a un provinciale come me disabituato a tanta grandiosità.
Ora mi ritornavano in mente le parole che scrisse San Pietro: "La terra con tutte le sue opere sarà distrutta”: sì, le grandi opere di cui l’uomo si vanta.
Nel vedere quel brulichio di persone a Grand Central, sentivo di commuovermi, pensavo a Gesù che pianse alla vista di Gerusalemme e in vista della sua distruzione. Vedo tanta variegata umanità e pensando ad ogni persona - di qualunque colore, età, stato sociale – com’è preziosa agli occhi di Dio, un Dio che "ha tanto amato il mondo (in ogni sua singola persona) da dare il suo unico Figlio… E perché preziosi, c'è da avvertirli perché si salvino, credendo e affidandosi all'unico Salvatore e Dio: Gesù Cristo!

He writes to us: Here Saint Francis is not as well known as I thought.
I switched to Grand Central, where there is a train station and a really great subway, it seems an impressive opera house located in the heart of Manhattan, you go in and you find fine restaurants on both sides, a central staircase with a loggia at the end from where you can watch a huge square below where countless people move quickly in all directions, from above they look like ants fleeing from an anthill.
All around the station the colossal skyscrapers of New York by now enlightened because evening has arrived give a sense of eerie awe, at least to a provincial like me unaccustomed to so much grandeur.
Now the words that St. Peter wrote came back to my mind: "The earth and all its works will be destroyed": yes, the great works of which man boasts.
On seeing the swarm of people in Grand Central, I felt moving my heart, I thought about how Jesus wept at the sight of Jerusalem, and foreseeing its destruction. I see so many diverse humanity and thinking about each person - of whatever colour, age, social status - how precious it is in God’s eyes, a God who "so loved the world (in every single person) that he gave his one and only Son ... and because precious one must warn them so that they can be saved, believing and trusting in the only Saviour and God: Jesus Christ!

Ricorrono in questi giorni 66 anni dalla Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti Umani promossa dalle Nazioni Unite e promulgata il 10 Dicembre 1948,
il cui primo articolo così recita: " Tutti gli esseri umani nascono liberi ed eguali in dignità e diritti. Essi sono dotati di ragione e di coscienza
e devono agire gli uni verso gli altri in spirito di fratellanza " .
Ma proprio alla sede dell’ONU a New York, la mostra di antichi manoscritti relativi a San Francesco eccezionalmente prorogata per due settimane
(sarà trasferita dal 16 Dicembre a Brooklyn) ricorda innanzitutto con il Cantico delle Creature, riportato nel famoso codice 338, quelle che sono
le vere radici – purtroppo disconosciute e calpestate da tanti - della vera fratellanza umana: che siamo tutti creature di un Dio che è Amore!

66 years have passed since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights promoted by the United Nations and promulgated on December 10, 1948,
whose first article states: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience
and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood " .
But just at the UN headquarters in New York, the exhibition of ancient manuscripts relating to St. Francis exceptionally extended for two weeks
(it will be transferred from December 16 to Brooklyn) recalls, beginning with the Canticle of the Creatures reported in the famous code 338,
what are the real roots - unfortunately disregarded and trampled by many - of true human brotherhood: we are all creatures of a God who is Love!

La sera del 4/12/2014 a "Porta a Porta" con Bruno Vespa si è parlato di San Francesco e Assisi, per presentare il nuovo film di Liliana Cavani su San Francesco.
Tanti servizi su Assisi e lunga intervista con Fortunato frate direttore della rivista “sanfrancesco”, e vari turisti, ma neppure “en passant” Massimo Coppo col sacco...
che ad Assisi incarna da molti anni l’autentica vocazione di San Francesco.

Il 9/12/2014 abbiamo visto la seconda e ultima parte del film e con grande soddisfazione riteniamo che la regista Liliana Cavani sia stata proprio ispirata da Dio.

On the evening of 4/12/2014 at “Porta a Porta” with Bruno Vespa they talked about St.Francis and Assisi,
to present the new film of Liliana Cavani on Saint Francis.
Many services on Assisi and a long interview with friar Fortunato editor of the magazine "sanfrancesco", and various tourists,
but not even "en passant" Massimo Coppo with a sackcloth... who in Assisi embodies since many years the true vocation of St. Francis.

On the 09/12/2014 we saw the second and final part of the film and with great satisfaction we believe that the director Liliana Cavani was really inspired by God.
