Matteo Renzi alla Santa Messa dove si è recato insieme alla sua famiglia senza scorta (chi crede può contare sulla discreta ma efficacissima protezione degli angeli!). La foto, che lo ritrae inchinato in umile raccoglimento davanti a Dio, contrasta con il suo aspetto piuttosto spavaldo che assume in pubblico. Ma il neo premier, che come una delle  priorità del suo programma di governo ha posto la scuola e la pubblica istruzione, si inchina davanti a quel Divino Maestro da cui solo può ricevere la sapienza per una buona leadership. Abbiamo un Papa che usa per lo più l’Italiano, che considera la più bella e semplice delle lingue, ama chiamarsi vescovo di Roma, e parla di Chiesa Cattolica “Romana”. Che Dio ci conceda di avere a Roma anche un governo illuminato, che faccia tornare l’Italia a primeggiare nel mondo, con la sua millenaria impareggiabile fioritura di Santi, artisti, inventori, capolavori d’arte e bellezze naturali. Le premesse ci sono, e la meta è raggiungibile, se anche noi tutti come credenti daremo, come la Parola di Dio ci esorta a fare, il nostro contributo di preghiera.

But the neo premier, whose program has placed the school and  public education as one of the priorities of his government, bows before that Divine Master from whom and only from whom he can receive wisdom for a good leadership. We have a Pope who uses mostly the Italian language, that he considers the most beautiful and simple of the languages; and who loves to be called bishop of Rome, and speaks of “Roman” Catholic Church. May God grant us to have in Rome also an enlightened government, that may let Italy return to excel in the world, with its millenary incomparable flowering of Saints, artists, inventors, masterpieces of art and natural beauties. The way is paved, and the meta can be reached, if also we all believers will give, as the Word of God exhorts us to do, our contribution of prayer.

Queste fotografie riprendono la piazza inferiore della Basilica di San Francesco all’indomani del terremoto del 1997 e come appare attualmente dopo il restauro realizzato con pietre provenienti dai 5 continenti. Una di esse ritrae Massimo Coppo e ci è pervenuta con la dicitura “in preghiera sulle pietre del mondo”. L’opera di restauro della piazza è di grande rilevanza culturale, perché coinvolge quanti, venuti da ogni parte del mondo, scoprono che stanno camminando su pietre della loro terra. Ma soprattutto questa pavimentazione policroma ben rappresenta la grandezza e bellezza della Chiesa, “cattolica” proprio perché “universale”, e imperitura perché Cristo stesso ne è la “pietra angolare”, che la sostiene, anche nei momenti più difficili, con luminose figure di Santi: tra i quali San Francesco rifulge come il Santo più amato nel mondo.

But above all, this polychrome flooring well represents the majesty and beauty of the Church, "Catholic" because "universal" and everlasting because Christ himself is the "cornerstone" who sustains her even in the most difficult moments, with bright figures of Saints: amongst whom St. Francis shines as the most beloved Saint in the world.

“Voi siete il sale della terra… voi siete la luce del mondo…”: non a una potente organizzazione umana, né ad una elite di persone colte, Gesù attribuisce questa missione universale: ma a gente comune, semplici pescatori che però avevano intravisto in quel Nazareno la vera luce venuta nel mondo a illuminare ogni uomo (Vangelo di San Giovanni 1:9). E tale è stata attraverso i secoli, e lo è più che mai ora, la Chiesa Cattolica. Cosa sarebbe il mondo, se non fosse stato illuminato dalla testimonianza, le parole e l’esempio di una innumerevole schiera di fedeli, Santi, e Martiri che per il vero bene dell’umanità hanno versato anche il loro stesso sangue? Il mondo, non vuol parlare di Dio, ma di “valori” e “diritti” dell’uomo. Ma quali valori, e quali diritti? L’ONU ha attaccato la Chiesa per la dolente e veramente scandalosa piaga dei preti pedofili, ma c’è da ricordare che già Benedetto XVI praticò la tolleranza zero nel Tribunale da lui istituito contro i reati sessuali di preti e vescovi; e un anno fa dette il sorprendente annuncio delle sue dimissioni proprio perché sentiva di non aver più il necessario vigore per guidare con fermezza la Chiesa. Come suo successore il Signore ha suscitato un Papa che sorprende il mondo per il coraggio con cui smaschera il male all’interno della Chiesa stessa, perché torni a risplendere nel mondo la sua imperitura bellezza. Ma chi in fondo, se non la Chiesa Cattolica, difende veramente i diritti dei minori, a cominciare dal condannare quanti vogliono sopprimerli fin dal grembo materno, o quanti non paghi di vivere nell’omosessualità dichiarata, pretendono anche di adottare un bambino? E l’ONU si fa paladino degli omosessuali, dichiarando nella persona del segretario Ban Ki-Moon, che “il mondo deve sollevarsi contro gli attacchi a lesbiche e gay”. Sì, in un mondo che persegue le sue ideologie, siamo proprio noi, cristiani, la vera luce e il sale della terra!

"You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world...": Jesus ascribes this universal mission neither to a powerful human organization, nor to an elite of educated persons, but to ordinary people, simple fishermen who had caught in that Nazarene a glimpse of the true light that had come into the world to enlighten every man (Gospel of St. John 1:9). And such the Catholic Church has been through the centuries, and it is so now more than ever. What would the world be if it had not been enlightened by the witness, the words and example of a countless host of faithful, Saints and Martyrs who have also poured their own blood for the true good of humanity? The world doesn’t want to speak of God, but of  human "values" and "rights". But which values, and which rights? The UN has attacked the Church for the painful and truly scandalous scourge of  pedophile priests, but one has to remember that Benedict XVI already practiced zero tolerance in the Tribunal set up by him against sexual crimes of priests and bishops; and a year ago he gave the surprising announcement of his resignation because he felt to have no longer the necessary force to firmly guide the Church. The Lord has risen as successor a Pope who surprises the world for the courage with which he unmasks the evil within the very Church, so that its everlasting beauty may return to shine in the world. But who in the end, if not the Catholic Church, really defends the rights of children, starting from condemning those who want to suppress them in the motherly womb, or those who are not satisfied to live in a declared homosexuality, but even pretend to adopt a child? And the UN puts itself as champion of the homosexuals, declaring in the person of Secretary Ban Ki-Moon that "the world must rise up against the attacks on lesbians and gay men". Yes, in a world that pursues its own ideologies, we Christians are the true light and salt of the earth!

Ma cosa sta succedendo? La Chiesa, fondata da quel Cristo che si è fatto bambino nascendo in una stalla, e che diceva “lasciate che i bambini vengano a me” preannunciando la condanna eterna per quanti li scandalizzano, questa stessa Chiesa è ora accusata dal massimo organismo internazionale di aver permesso migliaia di abusi sessuali su bambini. Che succede? Si sta verificando quanto sta scritto nella Parola di Dio: “E’giunto il momento in cui inizia il giudizio dalla casa di Dio” (I Lettera di San Pietro 4:17). E anche ciò che da anni lo Spirito Santo ha rivelato in modo incontrovertibile tramite quel profeta di Assisi – Marcello Ezechiele Ciai – che profetizzò il terremoto di Assisi. Nelle sue profezie, rivolte in particolare a Roma e al Vaticano, risuonano parole ben severe nei confronti della Chiesa: “Quant’eri bella o sposa mia! Madre dei miei figli, delizia degli occhi miei, splendore per tutte le genti. Ora non sei che un frutto marcio” (Il Mantello, 1981). “Alza le mani, battile, batti i piedi, strappati i capelli, buttati per terra, digiuna e piangi … piangi, piangi … ogni protezione è divelta, o casa di Pietro” (Profezia sul Papa e il Vaticano, 1995). “Una grave ferita sanguinente è stata inflitta…” (Alla Città Gaudente, 1995). “Signore, che non manchino i profeti nel tuo popolo!” ha pregato Papa Francesco al termine di un’omelia in cui ha detto che una Chiesa senza profeti manca della vita stessa di Dio. Ma quando Dio suscita un vero dono di Profezia, come nel caso di questo profeta di Assisi, c’è diffidenza, ostracismo o vera persecuzione anche a livello civile. Così è avvenuto nell’incredibile vicenda vissuta da Marcello Ezechiele Ciai e la sua comunità ad Assisi da più di trent’anni. Se non più dichiarati eretici e scomunicati come sono stati per lunghi anni, comunque di fatto emarginati dalla comunione ecclesiale, dove sono stati riammessi alla condizione di non diffondere le visioni o rivelazioni ricevute. Ma pur sempre il Signore si glorifica in mezzo al suo popolo, anche quando deve svergognarlo e castigarlo, proprio nel mandargli profeti, come questo di Assisi, che preannunciano i giudizi divini rivelandone il perché, e chiamano a penitenza quanti temono Dio e amano la Sua Chiesa.

But what's going on? The Church, founded by that Christ who made himself a child being born in a stable, and who said "let the children come to me" anticipating the eternal condemnation for those who scandalize them, this same Church is now accused by the highest international organism for having allowed thousands of child sexual abuses. What’s happening? It is the fulfilment of what is written in God's Word: "It is time for judgment to begin with God’s household" (1st Epistle of St. Peter 4:17). And also of what the Holy Spirit has incontrovertibly revealed since many years through that prophet of Assisi - Marcello Ezekiel Ciai - who prophesied the earthquake in Assisi. In his prophecies, addressed in particular to Rome and the Vatican, very severe words are uttered towards the Church: "How beautiful you were, oh my bride! Mother of my children, delight of my eyes, splendour for all the people. Now, you are nothing other than rotten fruit!" (The Mantle, 1981). "Lift up your hands, clap them, stamp your feet, pull out your hair, thrown yourself on the ground, fast and cry ... cry, cry ... every protection is demolished, o house of Peter" (Prophecy on the Pope and the Vatican, 1995). "A grave bloody wound has been inflicted..." (To the Pleasure seeking City, 1995) “Lord, may prophets never lack amongst your people!” Pope Francis prayed at the end of a sermon in which he said that a Church without prophets lacks the very life of God. But when God raises up a true gift of prophecy, as in the case of this prophet of Assisi, there is suspicion, ostracism or true persecution even in the civil sphere. So it happened in the incredible story experienced by Marcello Ciai Ezekiel and his community in Assisi for over thirty years. If they are not declared heretics and excommunicated any more as they have been for many years, however they are in fact excluded from the communion of the Church, to which they were readmitted on the condition not to spread the visions or revelations. But still the Lord is glorified in the midst of his people, even when he has to shame and punish them, exactly by sending prophets such as this one of Assisi, who announce the divine judgments revealing their ultimate reason, and calling to repentance those who fear God and love His Church.

Capolavori - Sulla guglia più alta del Duomo di Milano, capolavoro dell’arte gotica, spicca a più di 100 metri da terra la statua di Maria, la famosa “Madonnina” tanto cara ai milanesi. E Maria col Bambino campeggia nel capolavoro raffaellesco denominato “Madonna di Foligno”, che dopo essere stata esposto a Milano, prima di essere riportato ai Musei Vaticani, ha fatto tappa a Foligno. La mostra, allestita nel Monastero di Sant’Anna dove il dipinto era stato per oltre due secoli, ha visto una straordinaria affluenza di visitatori. Ma Foligno ha anche il primato della prima stampa - realizzata nel 1472 - del capolavoro dantesco, la “Divina Commedia”. E nell’ultimo canto del Paradiso, Maria è esaltata come il vero capolavoro del genere umano, “umile e alta più che creatura” (Canto XXXIII, 2): innalzata proprio per la sua umiltà, perché “il Signore ha guardato l’umiltà della Sua serva” (Vangelo di San Luca 1:48). I capolavori realizzati dal genio umano passeranno, “la terra con quanto c’è in essa sarà distrutta” (Seconda Lettera di San Pietro 3:10), ma gli umili regneranno nel nuovo mondo che Gesù inaugurerà al Suo ritorno. In questo mondo attuale dominato e rovinato dalla superbia umana, Maria nel Magnificat (Vangelo di San Luca 1:51-52) ci ricorda che Dio disperde i superbi nei pensieri del loro cuore ma innalza gli umili e cosi si legge nella profezia di Marcello Ezechiele Ciai rivolta "Alla Città Gaudente" (1995): "I vostri iniqui pensieri hanno sconvolto tutte le cose belle da me, per voi create..."

Masterpieces - On the highest spire of the Cathedral of Milan, a masterpiece of gothic art - the statue of Mary stands out more than 100 meters high from the ground: it’s the famous "Madonnina" - little Madonna - so dear to the people of Milan. The masterpieces made by human genius will pass away, "the earth and everything that is done on it will be destroyed" (Second Letter of Peter 3:10), but the humble will reign in the new world that Jesus will inaugurate on his return. In this present world dominated and ruined by human pride, Mary in the Magnificat (Gospel of St.Luke 1:51-52) reminds us that God scatters the proud in the thoughts of their hearts but lifts up the lowly and so one reads on the prophecy of Marcello Ezekiel Ciai addressed to "To the Pleasure Seeking City" (1995): "Your wicked thoughts have ruined all the beautiful things created by me, for you..."

All’indomani della conclusione dell’esposizione a Foligno del capolavoro raffaellesco, che ha visto un travolgente concorso di visitatori nella città umbra - dove meriterebbe di tornare definitivamente - in tutto il mondo viene celebrata la memoria delle vittime ebree della Shoah. A Piazza San Pietro, al termine dell’Angelus domenicale, Papa Francesco ha liberato come auspicio di pace delle colombe, che però sono state aggredite da un corvo e da un gabbiano. “Si parla di pace, si cerca la pace, ma gli uomini non sanno più cosa sia pace. La pace solo io posso darla…”: così si legge già nella prima delle profezie avute da Marcello Ezechiele Ciai (Il Mantello, 1995). Ma a una Chiesa e un Israele che invocano una  sempre più fuggevole pace, e al tempo stesso però rifuggono dalla parola dei profeti, questo profeta di Assisi in una successiva profezia (Alla città gaudente, 1995) ha rivolto da parte del Signore un ulteriore monito: “A te casa d'Israele e a te casa di Pietro mi rivolgo. Perchè dite: "La parola dei profeti è come il vento passato?" Perchè dite: "Pace, libertà, benessere", quando queste cose non ci sono e non potranno essere? Guerra oppressione e fame, io manderò allora sulle vostre nazioni. Oracolo del Signore”. Eh sì, la vera pace può provenire solo da Cristo, come nella meravigliosa e misteriosa “Madonna di Foligno” sembra additare l’imponente figura di Giovanni Battista, il precursore di Gesù. Ma tra i Santi raffigurati in questa pala d’altare, c’è anche San Girolamo, che sorprendentemente compare anche alla fine della citata profezia di Marcello Ezechiele: “Scappa Beniamino, divincola le tue braccia da quei preti e frati che ti vogliono trattenere dentro la porta della città, piena di adulterio e abominio. Corri, non a destra, nè a sinistra, ma sulla strada di Girolamo ti aspetterò. Oracolo del Signore”. La strada di Girolamo, che lasciò la corte papale per darsi alla penitenza nel deserto della Palestina e tradurre la Bibbia in latino - la famosa Vulgata - è l’ineliminabile condizione richiesta a tutti di pentirsi dei propri peccati, per trovare veramente pace e salvezza, come ricorda nel dipinto San Francesco; e come ha ricordato anche un San Francesco dei nostri tempi - Massimo  Coppo - che predica molto sul ritorno di Cristo, e con la sua consistente presenza alla mostra ha incarnato il misterioso e salvifico messaggio profetico della “Madonna di Foligno”.

Why do you say: the word of the prophets is like the wind that has passed? Why do you say: "Peace, freedom and well-being", when these things are not here and will not be? War, oppression and hunger, I will send then upon your nations”. Oracle of the Lord. Yes, true peace can only come from Christ, as in the beautiful and mysterious "Our Lady of  Foligno" the imposing figure of John the Baptist, the precursor of Jesus, seems to point out. But among the saints depicted in this altar-piece, there is St. Jerome too, who surprisingly also appears at the end of the above prophecy of Marcello Ezekiel: "Run away Benjamin, untie your arms from those priests and friars who want to keep you inside the door of the city, full of adultery and abomination. Run, neither to the right, nor to the left, but on the road of Jerome I will wait for you. Oracle of the Lord." The road of Jerome, who left the papal court to give himself to penance in the desert of Palestine and who translated the Bible into Latin - the famous Vulgate - represents the unavoidable condition required for everyone to repent from ones sins, to find true peace and salvation; as St. Francis recalls in the painting, and as a St. Francis of our time - Massimo  Coppo, who preaches a lot about the return of Christ - has also recalled: with his consistent presence at the exposure has embodied the mysterious and saving prophetic message of "Our Lady of Foligno".

Non tutti sono figli di Dio  -  Not all are children of God

L’Arcivescovo - e neo Cardinale - di Perugia, Gualtiero Bassetti, intervistato a margine della Giornata Mondiale del migrante e del rifugiato, ha affermato tra l’altro che "siamo tutti figli di Dio…questo è il pensiero del Papa". Ma secondo la Parola di Dio non è proprio così: "…voi tutti siete figli di Dio…" scrive ad esempio San Paolo ai Galati (3:26-27) aggiungendo però "quanti siete stati battezzati in Cristo". E’ il battesimo che rende “figli di Dio”, perché con il battesimo Cristo ci comunica il “potere di diventare figli di Dio” battezzandoci in Spirito Santo, come annunciato da Giovanni Battista nel brano evangelico (San Giovanni 1:29-34) proclamato in varie lingue nella Messa officiata da Bassetti nella Cattedrale di Perugia davanti ai tanti immigrati presenti.

Le vicende sentimentali di Hollande animano servizi giornalistici e televisivi di ogni tipo, come su Rai 1 “Porta a Porta” di Bruno Vespa o in Rai 3 su “Linea notte” anche in collegamento con la giornalista Giovanna Botteri. Sorprende la totale noncuranza di ciò che la Sacra Bibbia ha da dirci su come Iddio veda e giudichi casi come questo del Premier Francese, che in realtà ricorrono frequentemente nella vita privata di tanti Presidenti e Capi di governo. Il re Davide fu ripreso dal Signore non per le tante legittime concubine, ma perché aveva sedotto la moglie di un suo ufficiale, del quale poi aveva causato la morte. E Salomone, pur condannato da Dio per essersi lasciato fuorviare dalle sue donne ad offrire il culto a falsi dei, viene incontrato a sorpresa in Paradiso da Dante, che per bocca di San Tommaso esorta a non giudicare, perché solo Dio vede i cuori: “Non sien le genti, ancor, troppo sicure a giudicar…” (Paradiso, Canto XIII, vv 130-131). Ma poi, è illuminante la conclusione del racconto evangelico della donna colta in adulterio che stava per essere lapidata. Alle provocatorie parole del Salvatore “Chi di voi è senza peccato, scagli per primo la pietra contro di lei”, è scritto che tutti “se ne andarono uno per uno, cominciando dai più anziani fino agli ultimi” (San Giovanni 8:7,9). Nel campo dell’amore tra uomo e donna siamo un po’ tutti mancanti, e Dio ci guarda con tollerante comprensione. La stessa Associazione IACA è stata fondata da un uomo, Marcello Ciai, visitato dalla grazia - ha veramente visto Gesù - quando viveva ancora in concubinaggio. Il sentirsi indegnamente oggetto della misericordia di Dio, lo ha poi portato a penitenza e a regolarizzare la sua situazione matrimoniale “Neanche io ti condanno, va’ ed ora in poi non peccare più”, disse Gesù alla donna scampata dalla lapidazione (San Giovanni 8:11). Dio è buono e misericordioso, coraggio, affidiamoci alla sua misericordia!

At the provocative words of the Saviour, "Let anyone among you who is without sin, be the first to throw a stone at her," there is written that all "went away, one by one, starting with the eldest" (St. John 8: 7,9). In the sphere of love between man and woman all of us are a bit lacking, and God looks at us with tolerant understanding. The very Association IACA was founded by a man, Marcello Ciai, who, visited by the grace - has truly seen Jesus - when he was still living in concubinage. The feeling of beeing an unworthy object of God's mercy, then brought him to repentance and to regularize his matrimonial situation. "Neither do I condemn you, go away and don’t sin again," Jesus said to the woman escaped from stoning (St John 8: 11). God is good and merciful, courage, let us rely on His mercy!

Il vescovo di Perugia, Gualtiero Bassetti, è stato nominato Cardinale da Papa Francesco, che ha rotto con la tradizione della Chiesa di nominare nuovi Cardinali da città già sedi cardinalizie. Da ora in poi anche Perugia è sede cardinalizia: un motivo d’orgoglio per tutta l’Umbria, ha detto la Presidente della Regione Catiuscia Marini. Ma anche un ulteriore titolo di merito per la città, protesa ad essere riconosciuta Capitale Europea della Cultura, in un inscindibile legame con Assisi. “Ringrazio Perugia, Assisi e San Francesco” sono tra le prime parole di Bassetti alla notizia della sua elevazione alla porpora cardinalizia. E da Perugia è partita la prima edizione della mezza maratona (Km 21) Perugia-Assisi, un evento sportivo che ha riscosso un grande successo. La manifestazione è stata indetta dalla Fondazione Perugia 2019, presieduta dall’ex governatore dell’Umbria, Bruno Bracalente (porta la sua firma l’iscrizione della Associazione IACA nell’Albo Regionale delle organizzazioni di volontariato). All’arrivo a Santa Maria degli Angeli, in mezzo ai tanti partecipanti e alle autorità, Massimo Coppo, il predicatore penitente di Assisi, ha portato, tra sport e cultura, una dovuta presenza di fede - "la fede che è la più bella eredità che si può lasciare ai figli", ha detto il Papa -. Al microfono dello speaker della competizione, che lo ha presentato come degno rappresentante di San Francesco, Massimo ha ricordato che ciò che conta è vincere il premio della vita eterna, citando quanto, nella Sacra Bibbia, scrive San Paolo: "... ho terminato la mia corsa, ho conservato la fede. Ora mi resta solo la corona di giustizia che il Signore, giusto giudice, mi consegnerà in quel giorno; e non solo a me, ma anche a tutti coloro che attendono con amore la sua manifestazione" (Seconda Lettera a Timoteo 4:7-8).

New York, flagellata da un’eccezionale ondata di gelo, è rimasta sconcertata dall’arresto di oltre un centinaio di falsi invalidi, in gran parte ex poliziotti e vigili del fuoco. Molti di loro, istruiti ad arte per risultare inabili, dichiaravano inesistenti malattie riportate in occasione dei soccorsi al crollo delle Torri Gemelle, dove morirono oltre 3000 persone. Questa mega truffa, la più grande subita dalla Social Security americana, è venuta alla luce per l’impudenza con cui alcuni falsi invalidi pubblicavano su Facebook le loro imprese sportive o da vacanzieri. In  una nazione come gli Stati Uniti d’America dove si giura sulla Bibbia - nella foto il neo eletto sindaco di New York, l’italo americano Bill de Blasio - ma anche nella nostra Italia, culla del Cattolicesimo ma purtroppo anche di tanta corruzione, vicende come questa fanno risaltare il vero retroscena di tanti eventi, anche tragici, dei nostri giorni: quell’ipocrisia, misto di falsità e vanità, che Gesù ripetutamente e severamente condanna nel Vangelo. Non per nulla, a quanti gli riferirono la notizie di un fatto tragico avvenuto a Gerusalemme, Gesù dette questo perentorio avvertimento, che profetizzava la distruzione dell’intera città: "Quei diciotto, sopra i quali rovinò la torre di Sìloe e li uccise, credete che fossero più colpevoli di tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme? No, vi dico, ma se non vi convertite, perirete tutti allo stesso modo" (Luca 13:4-5). Un monito più che mai attuale per il nostro tempo e per il nostro mondo!

In a nation like the United States of America where one swears on the Bible - in the photo, the newly elected mayor of New York, the Italian-American Bill de Blasio - but also in our Italy, the cradle of Catholicism but unfortunately also of so much corruption, vicissitudes like this bring out the true background of many events, even tragic ones, of our days: that hypocrisy, a mixture of falsehood and vanity, which Jesus repeatedly and severely condemns in the Gospel. Not for nothing, answering to those who reported to him the news of a tragic event happened in Jerusalem, Jesus gave this final warning, which prophesied the destruction of the entire city: "Those eighteen persons who were crushed when the tower of Siloah fell, do you think that they were more guilty than all the other inhabitants of Jerusalem? No, I tell you, but unless you repent you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:4-5 ). A warning more than ever actual for our times and for our world!

Il libro lasciato lì da una parte, analogamente alla scala mobile che porta in alto le persone, sta  innalzando tanti cuori a una vera speranza che non delude. S’intitola “Dalla terra di Assisi e di Francesco lo Spirito di profezia”, di Massimo Coppo. Su questo libro, che viene dato su libera offerta per il sostegno dell’Associazione IACA, continuano ad arrivarci commenti come questo: “Caro Massimo, ho appena finito di leggere il tuo libro che mi hai gentilmente donato sulla via di Assisi... meravigliosa la sensazione che ho provato per tutte le 80 pagine, ma ancor di più il messaggio di fede e di speranza che adesso più che mai brucia in me... Mi sarebbe piaciuto tantissimo conoscere Marcello ed ottenere la sua benedizione. Chissà forse un giorno pregheremo insieme fianco a fianco” E un altro: “Sono venuta assieme alla mia famiglia ad Assisi, per visitare i luoghi di San Francesco e Santa Chiara, mentre andavamo via, siamo stati gentilmente fermati dal caro Fratello Massimo, il suo sguardo, il suo tono ci ha immediatamente coinvolto, ci ha raccontato le rivelazioni del caro fratello Marcello, ci ha mostrato il suo libro che ho letto tutto d'un fiato, sono tornata nella mia città, con un grande senso di pace nel cuore, grandissimo”.

Tempo di profezia - “Quando manca la profezia nella Chiesa, manca la vita stessa di Dio” ha detto recentemente Papa Francesco. Ma lo Spirito di profezia continua indubbiamente ad assistere la Chiesa, tant’è che lo stesso attuale pontificato e il nuovo corso che sta dando alla Chiesa, è stato anticipato e preparato profeticamente da diversi eventi. Sorprende la profezia di Papa Ratzinger che si poteva leggere già nel 2008 sul suo libro “San Bonaventura. La teologia della storia”: Nella Chiesa del tempo ultimo si imporrà il modo di vivere di San Francesco che, in qualità di «simplex» e «idiota», sapeva di Dio più cose di tutti i dotti del suo tempo - poiché egli lo amava di più. Questa profezia è come “rimbalzata” e riapparsa lo scorso anno sul popolare “Calendario di Frate Indovino”, profeticamente inserita in un trafiletto a margine del mese di Marzo 2013, proprio il mese dell’elezione del nuovo Papa! Più o meno da quel tempo Massimo Coppo, un componente della Comunità d’ispirazione benedettina Famiglie di Betlemme sorta in Assisi nel 1980 e dell’Associazione di volontariato Cristiano IACA, che proprio da Joseph Ratzinger aveva precedentemente preso per sé e l’associazione una preziosa benedizione, cominciò a stazionare in penitenza notte e giorno in Assisi, col sacco e a piedi nudi: una missione che come dice si è sentito “imporre” dall’Alto, nonostante le sue resistenze, per far rivivere nella Chiesa il messaggio e lo stile di vita del Santo. E da Assisi Massimo, seguendo l’ispirazione di Marcello Ezechiele Ciai, sua guida spirituale, si recò a pregare sotto la pioggia a Piazza San Pietro durante il Conclave, per un Papa francescanamente povero e vicini ai poveri. Grazie all’intercessione di questo nuovo Francesco - impropriamente definito “il pellegrino di Assisi” - la Chiesa ha ora il primo Papa di nome Francesco … Una storia sorprendentemente vera del nostro tempo, che è tempo di profezia.

A surprisingly true story of our time, that is time of prophecy.

Massimo Coppo, penitente della Comunità Famiglie di Betlemme di ispirazione benedettina, fondata in Assisi nel 1980 da Marcello Ezechiele Ciai, porta un messaggio di speranza e salvezza eterna, e quanti lo sentono provano l’emozione che suscitavano gli antichi predicatori. Ciò che dice, anche in inglese, lo possono ascoltare tutti in ogni parte del mondo, tramite una Webcam con audio installata nei pressi della Basilica. E’ un segno della fecondità spirituale di una terra, qual’è l’Umbria, che ha una ricchissima tradizione di santità, misticismo e cultura: tanto che Perugia, il capoluogo di regione, è candidata a capitale Europea della cultura.

“Qual è il limite tra la follia e la verità?”, si chiede Daniele Brunozzi all’inizio del suo video qui pubblicato, sul primo discorso fatto da Massimo sul piazzale della Basilica. Due altri video - che pure pubblichiamo qui - di cui uno anche con i sottotitoli in inglese, possono aiutare ad entrare meglio in questa sua “follia d’amore” che vuole trasmettere a tutti un messaggio forte e benefico. “Grazie Massimo…il resto tutte chiacchiere” ha commentato su Facebook un Parroco. Mentre un partecipante a un forum su profezie e apparizioni cattoliche, dopo aver incontrato Massimo ad Assisi, invitava gli altri a venirlo a incontrare: “parlateci, ne vale la pena !”. La pena di fare un po’ di strada, che però può essere ampiamente ricompensata: “Tant’è il bene che m’aspetto, che ogni pena m’è diletto!” esclamava spesso e pieno di gioia San Francesco.
