Si festeggia il calo dello "spread" per il bene dell'economia, ma noi riteniamo che fin quando non si potrà festeggiare il calo dello "spread" tra i comandamenti di Dio e i comportamenti dell'uomo non si potrà avere alcun bene. I primi due comandamenti che racchiudono tutti gli altri sono: "Ama il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il cuore, con tutta la tua anima e con tutta la tua mente" e "Ama il prossimo tuo come te stesso"

Anche
San Francesco a volte
predicava in mutande! Massimo Coppo predica nella piazza del centro di Assisi, viene chiamato il predicatore di Assisi o il Profeta di Assisi. Ecco, qui di seguito, il testo di una lettera scritta da una Signora Americana che vuole tornare a visitare Assisi. Ormai da tutto il mondo vogliono venire ad Assisi per ascoltare questo predicatore che predica e profetizza anche in inglese e vive per le strade e sulle piazze di Assisi scalzo e col sacco, d'estate e d'inverno come faceva San Francesco, il Santo più amato del mondo. - Mia figlia e io siamo appena tornati negli Stati Uniti dopo la nostra meravigliosa visita ad Assisi. Abbiamo avuto il raro privilegio di ascoltare Massimo Coppo predicare di fronte al tempio. Anche noi siamo credenti cristiani con un rapporto personale con il nostro Signore Gesù. Sto leggendo il libro che ci hai dato - Mi dispiace che non ne abbiamo presi due, siccome mia figlia vive in California e io vivo in Kansas. Io lo darò a mio fratello in Colorado per leggere anche lui. Ti ricordi di noi? Abbiamo parlato con te dopo aver sentito solo un po’ della tua predicazione. Abbiamo chiesto come hai imparato l'inglese, e ci hai detto di essere stato in Indiana. Il mio marito chiedeva dove hai vissuto in Indiana? “Il peccato di tanti cristiani” ha detto Benedetto XVI “rappresenta un grande ostacolo all’evangelizzazione”, che, a differenza del passato, riguarda un mondo reso indifferente od ostile anche per la secolarizzazione e il cattivo esempio di chi si professa cristiano. Solo i Santi, con il loro esempio di vita e la loro intercessione, possono aiutarci in questa “nuova evangelizzazione". "Il cristiano non deve essere tiepido, e' questo il più grave pericolo del cristianesimo di oggi". Il credente deve essere capace di incendiare gli altri con la sua fede. "La fede - spiega il Papa - deve divenire in noi fiamma dell’amore. Solo in questo accendere dell’altro per la fiamma della nostra carità, cresce realmente l’evangelizzazione, la presenza del Vangelo, che non è più solo parola, ma realtà vissuta". Ma c’è bisogno di “nuovi” santi. Il "Cortile dei Gentili", forum voluto dal Pontificio Consiglio della Cultura per favorire il dialogo tra credenti e non, ha organizzato ad Assisi , subito dopo il giorno 4 festa di San Francesco, per il 5 e 6 Ottobre due giorni di incontri tra intellettuali di spicco della cultura laica e cattolica,sul tema: Dio, questo Sconosciuto. L'incontro di apertura avverrà nel sagrato della Basilica di San Francesco, tra il Cardinale Ravasi e il Presidente della Repubblica Giorgio Napolitano. Nella Bibbia si legge che "gloria, onore e pace" sono riservati a quanti operano il bene, come fanno tanti non credenti. Ma purtroppo quanti “credenti” che dichiarano di conoscere Dio ma lo rinnegano con i fatti, si sentiranno dire nell'ultimo giorno da Gesù, giudice supremo: “In verità vi dico, non vi conosco”! Nelle piazze di molti paesi, islamici e non, dilagano violente manifestazioni antiamericane e antioccidentali, che si dicono motivate da alcune sequenze di un film che hanno urtato la sensibilità religiosa del mondo Islamico. Il profondo attaccamento e la venerazione dei seguaci dell'Islam verso il loro profeta Maometto, dovrebbe comunque muovere noi cristiani a chiederci: con quale fervore manifestiamo il nostro amore per Gesù Cristo, il Figlio di Dio, Salvatore del mondo?! frati, nella Basilica di San Francesco e squarciò
in due la piazza della Basilica Inferiore.
