You examine, what has happened and what still remains to happen of this prophecy!

The intelligence of the proud will fade away and I will trample upon their projects,
so that they will return and seek for magicians, astrologers and fortune-tellers
and I will put them in the hands of the cruel dominator of darkness. 
The city will be emptied, the woman will not give birth;
the genitals will become purulent.
The strong and the weak will pine away and become pale.
The news will diminish and will be scattered to the wind.
The press will wither and disappear. 
Fishers of news will complain and mourn and 
fishers of men will complain and remain desolate. 
Manufacturers, business-men and stylists will be confused and will turn pale.
The economy will collapse and the workmen will be dismayed.
How intelligent are the leaders of science !
The most clever of the president's advisers form a stupid council.
How can they say: "I come from famous schools and teachers ?!"
Where are they then your great wise men?
Let them reveal to you what the Lord of Hosts has decided against pride.
The wise men have become stupid and deceive the famous teachers,
as to lead astray all their leaders. 
The Lord has sent a spirit of misleading on all the leaders that makes
them move in every way like drunkards in their own vomit.

Fulmine colpisce il santuario di Muxia in Spagna. L'incendio distrugge il simbolo del cammino di Santiago di Compostela. Nel Vangelo di Giovanni sta scritto:
“…è giunto il momento in cui né su questo monte, né in Gerusalemme adorerete il Padre…i veri adoratori adoreranno il Padre in spirito e verità.”

Lightning strikes the sanctuary of Muxía in Spain. The fire destroys the symbol of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. In the Gospel of John there is written:
“…a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem… the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth.”

Il settimanale “Time” ha immortalato Papa Francesco come “Persona dell’anno”, mettendo in copertina una sua immagine da pacioccone. Ma già la sua foto campeggiava il Luglio scorso sulla rivista Vanity Fair, che l’aveva consacrato con buon anticipo come uomo dell’anno, esaltandone il coraggio e al tempo stesso l’umiltà. Eppure, il plauso del mondo è sempre sospetto. Gesù ha addirittura detto: “Guai a voi, quando tutti gli uomini diranno bene di voi” (San Luca 6:26), e ha avvertito chiaramente i suoi discepoli che devono piuttosto aspettarsi di essere odiati da un mondo che ha odiato Lui: fino a crocifiggerlo; e che continua a rigettarlo come Figlio di Dio – uomo non dell’anno, ma dell’eternità – e come unico Salvatore. Ma il Signore, accanto a questo Pontefice che con indubbio coraggio ha impartito una svolta epocale alla Chiesa, perché sia povera e vicina ai poveri e agli emarginati, ha fatto comparire a Piazza San Pietro, durante lo scorso Conclave, un penitente di Assisi, Massimo Coppo: che pregava sotto la pioggia, col sacco e a piedi nudi, intercedendo per amore della Chiesa. “Conmueve a la Piazza San Pietro”, ha commentato un servizio giornalistico in lingua spagnola diffuso in tutto il mondo: ma Massimo ha anche commosso il Signore, che ha portato al soglio pontificio un Papa di nome Francesco. E continua ad essere una voce profetica che si aggiunge a ciò che dice il Papa, a ricordare il vero pericolo che incombe su quanti rifiutano di credere in Cristo e al Vangelo: quell’inferno eterno; di cui pure tanto spesso parlava San Francesco nelle sue vibranti prediche, che accompagnava con le sue tante sofferenze vissute per amore della salvezza delle anime.

But the Lord, next to this Pontiff who with undoubted courage has imparted an epochal turning point to the Church, so that she may be poor and close to the poor and marginalized people, has made appear in St. Peter's Square, during the last conclave, a penitent from Assisi, Massimo Coppo: who prayed in the rain, wearing a sackcloth, and barefoot, interceding for the sake of the Church. "Conmueve a la Piazza San Pietro", (he touches the hearts in Saint Peter’s square) was the comment made by a news report in Spanish language spread all over the world. But Massimo also touched the Lord’s heart, who led to the papal throne a pope named Francis. And he continues to be a prophetic voice added to what the Pope says, to remember the real danger that hangs over those who refuse to believe in Christ and in the Gospel: that eternal hell, of which St. Francis so often spoke in his vibrant preaching, accompanied by the many sufferings he lived for love of the salvation of souls.

Contraltare? Massimo Coppo predica scalzo e vestito di sacco come San Francesco, sul meraviglioso palcoscenico della Basilica Papale di Santa Maria degli Angeli, che ingloba la "Porziuncola", culla e Chiesa madre del Francescanesimo. Lui afferma: Non ho affatto intenzione di pormi come contraltare al Papa; ma quando c’è da portare un parola di chiarezza alla luce della Sacra Scrittura, mi sento chiamato a farlo, per amore della Chiesa e del Papa stesso, le cui parole vengono costantemente manipolate e distorte dalla stampa e dai vari media. Per fare un esempio, nell’omelia conclusiva dell’Anno della Fede, a commento del commovente dialogo di Gesù col "buon ladrone" crocifisso accanto a Lui, il Papa ha detto: "Gesù pronuncia solo la parola del perdono, non quella della condanna". Ed ecco la stampa generalizzare indebitamente quanto il Papa ha detto, facendogli affermare che "Gesù ha solo parole di perdono, non pronuncia mai condanna". Ma se così fosse che pensare - e di simili passi evangelici ne potrei citare tanti - dell’invettiva che il Signore rivolge contro quelli che chiama "scribi e farisei ipocriti": "Serpenti, razza di vipere, come potrete scampare dalla condanna della Geenna?" (San Matteo 23,33).

Counterpart? Massimo Coppo preaches, barefoot and dressed in a sackcloth as St. Francis, on the wonderful stage of the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, which incorporates the "Porziuncola", the cradle and  Mother Church of the Franciscans. He says: I have no intention of putting myself as a counterpart to the Pope; but when it is necessary to bring a word of clarity in the light of the Sacred Scriptures, I feel called to do so, for the love of the Church and of the Pope himself, whose words are constantly being manipulated and distorted by the press and various media. For example, in the concluding homily of the Year of Faith, commenting the touching dialogue between Jesus and the "good thief" crucified next to him, the Pope said: "Jesus pronounces only the word of forgiveness, not that of condemnation". And here's the press unduly generalizing what the Pope said, making him say that "Jesus has only words of forgiveness, He never pronounces condemnation”. But if it were like this, what should we think - just to quote one among the many similar passages of the Gospel - about the invective addressed by the Lord against those whom He calls "scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites": "You serpents, you brood of vipers! How can ye escape being sentenced to hell?" (St. Matthew 23,33).

Alle tantissime persone partecipanti al V-day a Genova, Beppe Grillo ricorda con vanto che il movimento 5 stelle è sorto il 4 Ottobre, festa di San Francesco, anticipando Papa Bergoglio - “anche lui è grillino”, ha detto - che ha assunto il nome del Santo di Assisi. Mentre il premio Nobel Dario Fo conclude con un’imprecazione il suo intervento al convegno. Certo più che mai giuste sono le istanze di un profondo, radicale cambiamento e rinnovamento delle nostre istituzioni, che porti vera giustizia politica e sociale in un paese come il nostro tristemente considerato come uno dei più corrotti del mondo: nonostante accolga il Vaticano, culla del cattolicesimo, e gran parte dei Papi siano stati italiani. Ma san Francesco riparò una Chiesa che, stando alle parole stesse di Gesù, era in rovina, e immise una benefica linfa di vera giustizia e solidarietà per i più poveri nella società del suo tempo, pregando e facendo penitenza, e non infiammando i cuori di odio, ma infiammandoli d’amore.

Berlusconi decaduto: c’è chi festeggia e chi fa lutto. Giustizia o giustizialismo? Tante cose saranno palesi solo “nel giorno in cui Dio giudicherà i segreti degli uomini per mezzo di Gesù Cristo” (Lettera ai Romani 2:16). Gesù ha detto che il suo regno non è di questo mondo, e che la giustizia di chi ne vuol far parte deve superare quella “degli scribi e dei farisei” (Matteo 5:20). Una giustizia però che, paradossalmente, comincia col riconoscere che siamo tutti ingiusti, tutti “ladroni”, proprio come quei due malfattori crocifissi accanto al Signore. Il riconoscerci tali dovrebbe renderci meno accaniti e litigiosi gli uni verso gli altri, anche in campo politico. Perché - ha ammonito Gesù - “ogni regno diviso in se stesso va in rovina e una casa cade sull'altra” (Luca 11:17).

Berlusconi expelled from Parliament: there are those who feast and those who mourn. Justice or excessive judicial power? Many things will be manifest only "in the day when God will judge the secrets of men through Jesus Christ" (Romans 2:16). Jesus said that his kingdom is not from this world, and that the righteousness of those who want to join it must exceed that of the "scribes and Pharisees" (Matthew 5:20). A righteousness though, which paradoxically begins by recognizing that we are all unjust, all "thieves", just like those two bandits crucified aside the Lord. Recognizing us as such, we should become less pitiless and quarrelsome towards each other, also in the political arena. Because - Jesus has warned - "every kingdom divided against itself will decay, and house falls on house" (Luke 11:17).

La Sardegna piange i suoi morti e la devastazione che l’ha investita, e noi ci associamo al cordoglio di questa amata regione d’Italia. Dalle Filippine agli Stati Uniti, al nostro stesso paese; da nord a sud, da Oriente a Occidente, nessun luogo appare più al sicuro dai ricorrenti e crescenti sconvolgimenti mondiali: “Odi, oh terra, dov’è la tua salvezza… non c’è più dove trovare scampo...” si legge nelle profezie di Marcello Ciai, che parlano di sventura e terrore su un mondo sempre più lontano dal suo Creatore. Un Dio che pure questo mondo l’ha creato per amore, e, come è scritto (Lamentazioni 3:33) “contro il suo desiderio affligge i figli dell’uomo” perche si salvino per l’eternità. Molti, anche nella Chiesa, cercano di trovare una ragione di certe calamità, nella mancata cura e rispetto dell’uomo per l'ambiente in cui vive. Nella Sacra Bibbia Dio stesso dice: “Io formo la luce e creo le tenebre, faccio il bene e provoco la sciagura; io, il Signore, compio tutto questo. (Isaia 45:7). E allora, come i discepoli in mezzo alla tempesta, anche noi nel mezzo di tante tragiche calamità, invochiamo Cristo, con fede e timore: "Maestro, maestro, siamo perduti!" E lui, si legge nel Vangelo (Luca 8:23-25) “destatosi, sgridò il vento e i flutti minacciosi; essi cessarono e si fece bonaccia. Allora disse loro: «Dov'è la vostra fede?» Essi intimoriti e meravigliati si dicevano l'un l'altro: «Chi è dunque costui che dà ordini ai venti e all'acqua e gli obbediscono?» Sì, solo nel Signore Gesù Cristo troveremo pace e salvezza.

Sardinia is mourning her deaths and the devastation that hit her, and we associate with the grief of this beloved region of Italy. (Isaiah 45:7) And so, as the disciples in the storm, we also in the midst of so many tragic calamities, call upon Christ, with faith and fear: "Master, Master, we are perishing! And He, so we read in the Gospel (Luke 8:23-25​​) "arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them: «Where is your faith?» They were afraid and amazed, and said to one another: «Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?» Yes, only in the Lord Jesus Christ, we will find peace and salvation.

Cancellata dal magistero della Chiesa l’intervista rilasciata da Papa Francesco a Eugenio Scalfari: un palese e quanto mai concreto esito della lettera aperta inviata lo scorso settembre al Papa da Massimo Coppo, il “pellegrino di Assisi” che a Piazza San Pietro durante il Conclave pregava sotto la pioggia.
